explanation of the arrival in Bombay:
Gandhi has been in South Africa and when he arrives in Bombay, he says that India is an alien country to him. I think this is the "key quotation" of this scene, because you can see how Inida has changed while Gandhi's absence. (Most likely due to the influence of the British)

explanation to Kaddl's problem with the order:
I just wrote down what came to my mind, so don't care about it...just ignore the order please :P

explanation of the massacre scene:
In my opinion it is a key scene, because after the massacre, there is a two minute long black silver sreen and some Indian music is played in the background. (Mr. Münch cut this scene off)
I think this pause of the action should effectuate that the viewers become a feeling for the situation in India at that time.
Maybe it's no key scene of the action, but definitely it is one of the transformation of the film, because the producer has to charge the movie with emotion, so that it is interessant for the viewer and this scene is really brimful with emotions

I also agree with your key scenes but I don't know/can't remember with Gandhi's arrival in Bombay. Please tell what this scenes symbolizes/represents! Thank you :)

Good work, there's nothing left to say for me... :)

Hey Verena!
I agree with your choice of the key scenes, except the scene of the massacre. It is very cruel and violent. But I don't think that this is a key scene, because it just shows the behaviour and the attitude of the British. But we know their attitude, so this massacre isn't really unexpected. Nevertheless, it's an imortent scene and shows the reason why Gandhi is fighting so hardly.

hi dude,
I agree with your choicves of key scenes because I have chosen some of them, too.
The only point I find fault with is the order of your scenes because I think it is not the order of the film and that is a bit confusing.
